I am originally from Kingwood, Texas. I encountered Jesus in a personal and intense way several times during my childhood and adolescence. In fact, I felt a call to ministry as a boy and rediscovered that call the summer before my senior year of high school during a youth camp. That encounter with the Lord led me to study to be a pastor at Oral Roberts University, but I soon discovered the beauty of the Catholic sacramental worldview and the truth about Jesus in the Eucharist. After entering into full communion with the Church, I received an M.A. in Theology from Franciscan University, open to a possible vocation to the priesthood. I taught high school theology and Spanish for eight years until I felt a call directly related to the priesthood in imitation of St. John the Evangelist while reading In senu Iesu.
