My father once said, “If you want to know God’s will, you have to fall in love.”  It is truly so.  But to fall in love with God, I had to first have an encounter with Divine Love and that primarily manifested itself through the sacrament of confession.  It was through many, many confessions that I was oriented back to Christ.  And only in the encountering of Divine Love was the hardness of my heart penetrated enough for me to notice the deepest longings of my heart that would eventually spur me into seminary where I am today.
